House break ins:
According to Statistics South Africa (Stats S.A.) there were an estimated 1.5 million house break
ins in 2024. With over 400 homes broken into over the Xmas/New year period.
Criminals keep a watch on homes where the occupants leave for an extended period
Whilst alarm systems, armed response,outdoor lighting and locked gates and doors are
deterrents, the criminals have become more adept at circumventing alarm systems and making
entry into the home.
Both the SAPS and the security industry will tell you that the most effective deterrent is a
physical presence in your home.
